UAE eInvoicing: the ASP appointment deadline has moved to 30 October 2026

Businesses above AED 50 million in annual revenue have until 30 October 2026 to appoint an Accredited Service Provider. The go-live date has not moved.

22 August 2026

The UAE Ministry of Finance has extended the deadline for appointing an Accredited Service Provider for businesses with annual revenue exceeding AED 50 million, from 31 July 2026 to 30 October 2026.

This is a welcome development. It provides additional time to evaluate the available service providers, assess system readiness, complete internal planning, and ensure smoother integration with accounting or ERP systems.

It is important to note that the mandatory go-live date remains unchanged. Businesses in this category must still be ready to implement eInvoicing by 1 January 2027. In simple terms, businesses now have more time to select the right ASP, but not more time to go live.

The updated implementation timeline

  • Annual revenue exceeding AED 50 million

    ASP appointment by 30 October 2026. Mandatory go-live 1 January 2027.

  • Annual revenue below AED 50 million

    ASP appointment by 31 March 2027. Mandatory go-live 1 July 2027.

  • Government entities

    ASP appointment by 31 March 2027. Mandatory go-live 1 October 2027.

This is not only a tax compliance requirement

The UAE eInvoicing framework will affect your invoicing process, accounting system, ERP setup, invoice format, customer and supplier master data, tax codes, approval workflows and reporting controls.

Even with the extended ASP appointment deadline, businesses should avoid waiting until the last quarter of 2026. Early preparation reduces implementation risk, avoids system delays, and makes for a smoother transition.

Action points for your finance team

  • Evaluate ASP options and technology requirements

  • Review your existing invoicing and accounting processes

  • Assess ERP or accounting software readiness

  • Validate customer, supplier and tax data

  • Plan for system integration, testing and staff training

  • Avoid last-minute implementation, because the go-live date is fixed

The extension provides additional time. Timely action is what will make the transition smoother, safer and more cost-effective.
